Marriage

"At the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female'.  For this reason a man will leave his father and mother to be united to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.  So they are no longer two, but one.  Therefore, what God has joined together, no one must ever separate."  (Mark 10:6-9)

The Lord Jesus makes it very clear what was in the mind and heart of God from the very beginning, that two people would come together freely under the power of a special mutual love and make a promise that would have eternal importance in the eyes of God.  And that this indissoluble bond of love between persons, would be nothing less than a mirror image of the spousal bond between the Person of the Living God and all persons in Jesus Christ.  Wow!  May all couples be greatly affirmed in this glorious vocation and the light that they give to all in the house.  The House of God!  Amen.
